The Kerala Story Full Movie Review:- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday (April 30) slammed the makers of ‘The Kerala Story’ saying that prima facie the film lies with the aim of creating communal polarization and spreading hatred towards the state.
Vijayan said that despite the issue of ‘love jihad’ being dismissed by the investigating agencies, courts and the Home Ministry, it is being raised about Kerala only to “humiliate the state before the world”.
The film, whose trailer was released last week, is slated to open in theaters on May 5. It is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutul Shah. The film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani

Ever since the trailer dropped, it has been the subject of fierce online debate and criticism, with many claiming that its story is fabricated. Others have claimed that it sheds light on the much-hyped story of forced conversions in Kerala.
The film’s story
The film’s plot follows the story of a group of women from Kerala who convert to Islam (by force or deceit) and join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Adah Sharma plays Fatima Baa – a Hindu Malayali nurse who converted to Islam – and then joined ISIS before ending up in an Afghan prison. She identifies as one of “32,000 women” (the number, mentioned in the description box of the film’s trailer on YouTube, has now been changed to 3) from Hindu and Christian communities who allegedly migrated from Kerala. are missing and have been recruited into the Islamic State after converting to Islam.

Arriving at the number
The film’s most controversial announcement so far has been that approximately 32,000 women have gone ‘missing’ from the southern state, allegedly after being forcefully/deceptively converted to Islam and then recruited by the Islamic State.
While director Sudipto Sen has claimed that he has proof of this announcement, till date he has not shared it publicly. In an interview on the YouTube channel ‘Festival of India’, Sen claims that in 2010, the then Chief Minister Oommen Chandy tabled a report on the grounds of the Kerala Assembly which stated:
“Every year around 2800-3200 girls were being converted to Islam”. Volume. According to Sen, Chandy denied these figures when Sen questioned him, however, he has “documents” to show his declaration.
The Indian Express could not find any document from 2010 that referred to the figures cited by Sen.
