Educational Qualification

Minimum educational qualification: Candidates must have the degree of a graduate of the one of the universities incorporated under legislation of the national or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions that were established through An act of the Parliament, or designated as a university under section 3. of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or have the equivalent qualifications.

Note: Candidates who took part at a qualifying test that passed would make them eligible in the commission’s Examination however, they haven’t been informed of the results and those who plan to take an examination that is deemed to be qualifying are also qualified for this Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination. Candidates who are certified by the Commission to take the Civil Services (Main) Examination will need to provide proof of having passed the qualifying exam along with the application (i.e. the Detailed Application Form I) to be eligible for Main Examination, failing which the candidates will not be permitted to take the Main Examination. This evidence of having passed the qualifying exam must be submitted before when the deadline (closing deadline) of the Detailed Application Form-I that is required for Main Examination.
